Payback = price ÷ (average daily income − daily costs), before bad days. Bad days add roughly 3–5 days to every figure. Daily income is a random draw inside the range, settled at 6 PM game time.

The rules behind the numbers

How Businesses Actually Pay

Settlement is daily, at 6 PM game time. Each day your take is a random draw inside the income range, minus the daily costs. Nothing to tap, nothing to work — the money just lands.

Bad days are priced in. Every business has an 8–10% chance of an incident that loses the bad-day amount instead of earning — ₦2,000 for a kiosk, ₦1.1M for the Quilox share.

Cash is the only gate. No skill requirement, no city requirement — if you can afford the price, you can buy the business.

Offline still counts. Days you don't log in still settle, up to 7 days back. A business is the only income that pays while you're away.

Selling returns 60%. Exit any business and you get 60% of the purchase price back — so a business sold before payback is a loss.

The Passenger Bus Fleets

Three bus classes run the inter-city routes. Fare per seat is the route's base fare × the bus's fare multiplier — and NPC operators bid against you on price.

Questions

Business FAQ

What is the best business to start in Lagos Life?

By payback speed, the ₦150,000 Recharge & Data Kiosk in Ojuelegba wins — 77 days to break even. With ₦300,000–₦500,000 the Zobo stand or POS stand pay back in 79–80 days. Bigger businesses (Buka, Barbing Salon, Car Wash) earn far more per day but take 91–113 days to repay. Cash is the only gate — no skill or city requirement.

Is a business better than a job in Lagos Life?

They do different things. A job pays per shift you actually work and gates on skills; a business settles every day at 6 PM whether you log in or not (up to 7 days back), needs no skills, but ties up capital for 77–162 days before it pays for itself. The strongest setup is both: wages fund the business, then the business funds you.

Is business income taxed in Lagos Life?

Yes, but it does not push your wages into a higher band — wages have their own separate ₦1,000,000 weekly tax-free allowance, and business income gets its own ₦1M allowance before the 20% / 30% / 35% bands. Tax resets every Monday. The full numbers are in the money guide and the budget calculator.

What is the Quilox share in Lagos Life?

A 5% equity stake in the Quilox nightclub on Victoria Island, bought for ₦250,000,000. It settles exactly like a business — random daily income of ₦1,795,000–₦3,585,000 minus ₦1,150,000 costs, paid at 6 PM — and it is the slowest payback in the game at 162 days, but the biggest daily earner.

Fund the business first

The fastest seed capital is a good job — then let the business pay you while you sleep.
