Money guide
How to Make Money in Lagos Life
Money comes from four places: shift pay (your main income), promotions (100% performance plus a skill level), picking a career with more shifts per week, and tax — which only bites after ₦1,000,000 in a week. Here is the fastest route through all four, with real numbers.

Marketer wins — ₦58,000 a week, and it is the only zero-skill job above ₦50,000. One thing to get right: House Officer (Medicine) pays ₦21,000 per shift — the highest single-shift pay at level 1 — but it needs Fitness 3, not zero skill. Want the biggest first paycheque? Train Fitness to 3 and take it. Want the easiest start today? Take Marketer.
The Highest Pay per Hour — Why DJ Wins
🎧 Global DJ (DJ level 5) pays ₦18,600 an hour — the best hourly rate anywhere in the game. Its shift is 8 PM–1 AM (5h) and it only runs 4 shifts a week, so the weekly ceiling stays at ₦372,000 — only 16th on the weekly list. DJ is the right pick if you play one or two sessions a day and want each shift to pay as much as possible. If you play most days, a 6-shift career out-earns it.

The smart route
Skill 7 vs Skill 9: The Cheapest Route to ₦500K a Week
Afrobeats Giant (Music) needs Music 7 → ₦495,000/week
Property Mogul (Real Estate) needs Charisma 9 → ₦528,000/week
Two extra skill levels buy you ₦33,000 a week — under 7% more. If your goal is “get rich as fast as possible”, Music 7 is the best skill-per-naira deal in the game: the only endgame job reachable at skill 7 that clears ₦495,000. Careers whose L5 needs skill 9: Real Estate, Broadcasting, Aviation, Product Management, Medicine and Civil Service. Careers that clear at 7: Music, Content Creator, Chef, Fitness Coach, Hairstyling, Tech, Trading, Nursing, Law, DJ, Banking, Retail, Teaching, Event Planning and Football. Train the career skill while your performance bar fills — both gates have to be met, and they fill at the same time.
The Fastest Route, Step by Step
The Music line, level by level — each step is roughly a doubling.
| Level | Job | Pay / shift | Skill | Shifts / wk | Max / week |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Backup Singer | ₦7,400 | Music 0 | 5 | ₦37,000 | |
| Studio Rat | ₦15,000 | Music 1 | 5 | ₦75,000 | |
| Opening Act | ₦28,400 | Music 3 | 5 | ₦142,000 | |
| Headliner | ₦49,900 | Music 5 | 5 | ₦249,500 | |
| 👑Afrobeats Giant | ₦99,000 | Music 7 | 5 | ₦495,000 |
₦37,000 → ₦75,000 → ₦142,000 → ₦249,500 → ₦495,000: a 13.4× increase from where you start. That is the cleanest “how do I get rich” answer in the game.
What Doesn’t Make Money
Switching careers. You restart at level 1 of the new career — your performance bar and level progress are lost. Pick one and climb.
Leaving a shift early. Pay is cut for unfinished shifts, and lateness drops the performance that gates your promotion.
Chasing hourly rate on a 4-shift career. DJ tops ₦18,600/h but caps at ₦372,000/week. If you play daily, that loses to a 6-shift job.
Tax: the ₦1,000,000 a Week Line
You only pay tax on weekly earnings above ₦1,000,000. The highest weekly ceiling in the game is ₦528,000 — so a single job never reaches the line. Tax only matters once you run multiple income streams in a week. Early game: ignore tax entirely.
