How Voting Actually Works

Voting happens at Polling Unit 001. Cast Your Vote takes 1 minute — but your account must be at least 1 day old. To run, you need a 1-day-old account plus 2 in-game days.

Your campaign link is the whole campaign. Every candidate gets lagoslife.app/vote/<office>/<username> to share. There is no rally, no debate, no billboard mechanic — votes come from the link.

One race at a time. Per the official X announcement, you can only contest one office at a time. You can appoint a campaign manager to handle the ballot, which pages 25 candidates at a time.

The ROI is real — if you win. Governor pays ₦25,000/day = ₦175,000/week against a ₦50,000 entry fee: break-even in two days of stipends. Lose, and the fee is simply gone.

Questions

Elections FAQ

How do you win an election in Lagos Life?

Votes are the only mechanic. Every candidate gets a shareable campaign link — lagoslife.app/vote/<office>/<username> — and players vote at Polling Unit 001 (Cast Your Vote takes 1 minute; your account must be 1 day old). You can also appoint a campaign manager to get on the ballot, and the ballot pages 25 candidates at a time. Winning is a pure popularity contest: share the link everywhere.

What can the Governor do in Lagos Life?

Two real powers: appoint 4 Commissioners (finance, works, health and transport — each earning a ₦10,000 daily stipend), and set one of five server-wide policies: half-price danfo/keke, +15% wages for everyone, +30% fun at entertainment venues, 30% cheaper food, or shorter power outages. Plus the ₦25,000 daily stipend.

What is the difference between Senator and President in Lagos Life?

Status and price, mostly. Senator for Lagos costs ₦50,000 to enter and pays ₦15,000 a day; President of Nigeria costs ₦100,000 and pays ₦25,000 a day. Neither has the Governor's policy or appointment powers in the current client. You can only contest one office at a time.

Do you get the entry fee back if you lose a Lagos Life election?

No. There is no refund path in the game client — the ₦50,000–₦100,000 entry fee is gone whether you finish second or last. Only run when your campaign link has real reach.
